About Me

My photo
Long Island, NY, vlpdesigns@aol.com, United States
I am an Interior Designer living on the Beautiful North Fork of Long Island. I feel very fortunate because this is where I am inspired by all the beauty that surrounds me. I have also worked in the Hamptons (on the south fork of Long Island for over 15 years) I have designed there for so many wonderful clients from celebrities to rock stars. It all comes down to one thing. We all want our homes to reflect who we are. We want them to be warm and inviting and to embrace us at the end of the day...

My Summer Design Project Before..

My client needed to update her summer home.  Although the chintz was pretty she wanted the room to be light and airy since it is a summer house in the Hampton's..
So we start from the beginning removing every thing from the room...With everything out it is easy to see what a wonderful space it really is...

However the carpet must go and we need to paint .

I love it! It is so refreshing not to see another beige ( or should I say taupe ) room. I hope my client agrees...Color ( Farrow and Ball  Pale Powder)

White Wash Samples for flooring .  Which one ???

New Beginnings...Stepping out of my comfort zone

I must move on... Take a risk and step outside of my comfort zone in order to grow, to develop, to become unstuck, to emerge and to finally become transformed in the possibilities that lie ahead...

Blue and White Again...

Beautiful images from Matthew Mead for Victoria Magazine.
Blue and white always fresh and crisp.  I don't think I'll ever get enough of this classic look!
Don't you agree...
